Work For Us

January 11th, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

Our vision is to become the inspiration behind the world’s most iconic brands.

And to do this, we need to attract and develop the most inspiring people in the industry. We need an eclectic mix of talent;  marketers, brand managers, qualitative and quantitative researchers, semioticians, ethnographers and cultural insight specialists.  People who share our ambition to deliver insight and consultancy that will change our clients’ businesses.

We also need IT, Finance, HR, Communications and Operations professionals who can help us get there. People who make things happen. For our clients. And for us.

But that’s just what we do in the office. We need people who are equally as passionate about their lives outside of work. People you’d enjoy sitting next to at a dinner party or on a train.  The kind of curious, motivated, interesting people who are the backbone of our business.

Hi Thembalenkosi. Thanks for your interest in Added Value. The answer to your question isn’t a simple one, I’m afraid. We do offer internships and graduate positions, but not in all of our offices. I’m guessing from the details you’ve provided that you’re based in Cape Town, South Africa, and would be looking at that office. Very occassionally that office hires graduates, but usually only in the context of a Kantar run graduate programme they’re involved in. Typically, though, they’re looking for candidates with a bit of experience in either insight (qual or quant) or brand management (client side or consulting). You’re welcome to get in touch with them directly to chat further. I’m sure they’d be happy to offer some advice on how to get into the industry. Good luck!

To whom it may concern. I am currently unemployed – however I have a BA in French and English. I have had work experience as an assistant teacher and more importantly a an ESL teacher in France. I worked quite intensely with a company that made prosthetic limbs (teaching them English) and was therefore exposed to the branding and marketing aspects of the enterprise. I am a creative person as well as analytical and would enjoy the challenge of research and the industries that you explore. I would appreciate it if you were able to inform me of any vacancies in either Durban or Johannesburg.

    Hi Added Value,

I’m an ex-South African living and working in London. I received my BA in Communication Management specialising in Creative Brand Communications from Vega: The Brand School (2:1) in 2008. I am currently working in New Business Management and am desperate to branch out into a ethnographic / qualitative research role. After conducting and leading full qualitative and quantitative research studies in University and now working with two leading consumer insight consultancies in London, I want a piece of the pie.

Where to next? There don’t seem to be any positions available at the moment, do the UK office get involved in work shadow / internship opportunities?

    All the best,

    Nicole

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I have graduated from LSE in 2010 (MSc Anthropology of Learning and Cognition, 1:1 / Distinction) and worked in the manufacturing industry in Italy since.

Due to my strong interest for brands and commodities on the one hand, and social research, I have decided to pursue a career in qualitative research and/or branding and have subsequently resigned from the position I held (assistant manager of an Italian SME). I have read about AV, seen some of the campaigns it was involved in, and I would hence join enthusiastically if I had the chance to.

Does AV have any graduate scheme?

Given that I am fluent in Italian and French, beside English, and that I would be enthusiastic about working for AV no matter where, for which offices would my application be considered for jobs and internships were I to upload my CV (along with a covering letter) on AV’s website?

Thank you in advance for your reply, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mattia Tempini
